Making slime!

Equipment

  • PVA glue (big container)

  • Plastic or paper disposable soup bowls ideally with lids. 50 for £9.95 from Amazon here.

  • Baking soda

  • Table spoons x 2 (1 for baking soda, 1 for contact lens solution)

  • Lolly sticks for mixing

  • Food coloring

  • Contact lens solution (check it contains Boric acid - I think they all do, but just to be sure)

  • Glitter - optional

  • Plastic covering for table

  • *Vinegar (Optional for cleanup.)

Instructions

  1. Add glue (about a cup worth or about ⅓ to ½ of a 16oz container)

  2. Add baking soda (about 1 tablespoon)

  3. Mix well

  4. Add food coloring (can mix different colours up to approx 8 drops)

  5. Mix well

  6. Add contact lens solution (start with 1 tablespoon)

  7. Mix until it gets stringy

  8. Knead with hands until it sticks to itself rather than bowl or hands. If this doesn’t happen add a little more contact lens solution. Don’t add too much contact lens solution or the slime will become less slimy and more stiff.

  9. Add glitter if desired
